Dixie L. Parr Administrative Assistant

Dixie graduated from CASHS with classes in Business Education. Growing up in the small town of Pleasant Hall, Dixie has resided in Shippensburg for 38 years. Volunteering and giving back to other organizations is how Dixie supports her community. Together, Dixie and her husband, Bob have a son, two daughters, and five grandchildren.

Dixie says, “What I enjoy most about working at Dugan Funeral Homes is helping others at a most difficult time in their lives. The care and empathy the Dugan’s have for every family makes you want to be a part of that. I feel my faith in God has led me to do this job of meeting new people and the many tasks each day brings.” Dixie’s personal interests include enjoying NFL games (she’s a big Green Bay Packers fan), cooking, summertime at the beach, and hosting get-togethers to spend time with family and friends. When not working, Dixie also gets pleasure from playing cards, enjoying her grandchildren’s sporting events, shopping with her daughters, and long Sunday drives relaxing with her husband.

They don't have any grandchildren (yet) but they enjoy babysitting for their five grand-dogs.

Davey is the kind of easy-going person that gets along with everybody. When responding to the quesiton, "What do you enjoy most about working at Dugan Funeral Homes?" Davey related that he does not miss the corporate life and very much appreciates the family atmosphere at Dugan where everyone works together. He had no idea how much work there is to be done behind the scenes. Davey enjoys that every day brings something different and he is frequently able to be outside for part of the day. As someone who places great importance on true friendships, Davey's personal interests include spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys exercising and some of his best buddies were work-out partners.
